Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Member | In Vivo Research | Animal Welfare & Compliance
Valley Bio Services — Mountain View, CA (Hybrid / Part-Time Advisory Role)Valley Bio Services is seeking qualified professionals to join our Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) supporting ethical, compliant in vivo / preclinical research within our Mountain View vivarium.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in laboratory animal science, animal welfare, regulatory compliance, or biomedical research oversight who are looking to contribute their expertise in a meaningful, part-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Review and evaluate animal use protocols for scientific and ethical merit
Ensure compliance with USDA, OLAW, AAALAC, and PHS Policy guidelines
Participate in monthly IACUC meetings (remote, business hours)
Conduct semiannual program reviews and facility inspections
Support institutional adherence to animal welfare regulations and bioethics standards
Time Commitment
Monthly meetings (1–2 hours)
Ongoing protocol review (remote, flexible schedule)
Two on-site inspections per year (travel allowance provided)
Preferred Qualifications / Keywords
We encourage applicants with one or more of the following backgrounds:
In vivo / preclinical research (rodent or mammalian models)
Laboratory Animal Science (LAS) or vivarium operations
PhD (Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, etc.)
DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or veterinary experience
MD / Physician / Clinical research background
Animal husbandry / research animal care / colony management
Experience with IACUC, IRB, or research compliance committees (preferred)

Job Overview
We are seeking a Construction Lead to join our team. We are a specialized property management company that performs a lot of building modifications and tenant improvements. We are seeking a skilled person who can lead a small team through basic construction.
A majority of our work is facilities support - hanging shelves, moving equipment, setting up IT equipment, etc - but we also take on projects that include building walls, extending some compressed air or water lines, installing a door, and we need someone that can do it all.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various facilities systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge, along with the ability to lead and supervise maintenance activities.
Duties
Lead basic construction projects for a commercial property.
Provide facilities support to maintain laboratories, office space and common areas of the building.
Shadow our Facilities Technicians on building maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC and painting.
Maintain safety related equipment (fire extinguishers, eye washes, etc.) and escalate concerns to management.
Assist with equipment moving and seismic strapping.
Solicit bids and manage outside vendors
Travel to other properties within 30 miles of Mountain View
Must have reliable transportation. A truck to haul items is a plus but not required.
Sweeping, mopping and other general cleaning. We work amongst our clients and clean up after ourselves.
Research and source replacement parts and building materials as necessary.
Order, unload, and stock general supplies as needed.
Always work within safety guidelines.
Interact and communicate with clients on a regular basis.
Assist with repair functions such as flooring repairs, drywall patching and painting, hardware installation, plumbing repairs and more.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
5+ years of general construction experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. and assist with moving heavy furniture and equipment in excess of 50lbs. using dollies, hoists and other devices.
Basic computer/mobile device skills required.
Customer service oriented.
Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Proficient communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, listening).
Time management ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Team-oriented.
Comfortable climbing ladders.
Ability to read a tape measure required.
Knowledge and familiarity with basic hand tools.

VRP Labs is seeking a Part Time Research Lab Operations Assistant.
You will assist with the operations of VRP Labs, a 100,000 sqft research campus for deep science research.
VRP Labs' campus has several shared lab spaces that the 85 member companies can use for their research including: in-vivo, chemistry, bio, tissue culture, and ISO7 Clean Rooms.
In addition our campus has over 100 private research labs that member companies use to conduct their own specialized research.
This part-time role is ideal for an outgoing person who wants to support the behind-the-scenes operations of scientific research infrastructure and equipment, and be part of the ecosystem of developing new science.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in research or operations to expand their experience and gain exposure to research on campus along by connecting with hundreds of researchers.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and at least 1 year of full time experience in a research lab setting: academic, startup, or commercial.
Part time schedule
This is a part time role and works best for candidates that are available sometime between 8:00 am and 4 pm, Monday to Friday for a total of 15-20 hours per week.
Duties:
Support lab manager and other campus staff across the campus shared labs: Shared equipment daily checks and review.
Provide lab amenity services to members such as: autoclave operations, dry ice, deionized water, glasswash services, and more.
Receive packages and sort by company. Sometimes deliver packages to our lab clients including: moving and connecting lab gas cylinders and liquid nitrogen.
Keep campus break room clean and tidy.
Help our members find answers to questions about the facility and amenities.
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a science field.
Experienced with computer office tools such as MS Word/Excel, ChatGPT, Adobe products
Customer service oriented
Flexible; able to adapt to changing priorities.
Time management - ability to prioritize and multi-task.
